PERMA SHINE PERILS !?
« on: October 21, 2010, 01:20:50 pm »
HAS anyone had a problem maintaining the warrenty of yearly inspections with Permashine because the only dealer has closed down and another owner took over?
The new owner won't honor the warrenty.  He says that was the responsiibility of the other guy.  It now under a different name also.
What do I do.  I am out of serious money buying the darn thing.
I am sure many many people in you community have done the same.
And possibly in the same boat?

Anyone?
What did you do or any advice?
Please.......

My advice would be don't buy the stuff in the first place. It's just an over priced wax job.

x2

I once worked at a new car dealer who sold similar stuff for about $500-700 a pop.  Yeah, basically it meant wax it with the small bottle, not the big one.

Partly wrong, partly right.  Permashine is actually not a wax at all, it's a synthetic polymer sealant.  You are right in that it's overpriced......WAY overpriced  You can pick up a professional sealant from Menzerna, Chemical Guys, Zaino, Blackfire, etc for a fraction of the cost and you'll have the product for MANY applications.  In short, stay away from their service!!

To the OP, unfortunately I would chalk this one up to a lesson learned.

While dealers can come and go and the new one certainly will too with that appraoch, but wouldn't Permashine be the ones to go after - they warranty their product - the dealer just applies it.

Don't know if that is possible, but maybe worth a try - best case scenario is that they force new dealer to honor it. Worst case - well you have already spent the money and learned a lesson.
