Some very interesting numbers!
« on: October 19, 2010, 08:42:37 pm »
I was just looking at my spreadsheet for gas expenses.  I do not track my personal mileage so this only accounts for press vehicles I have driven.  What is interesting is that the distance travelled is very similar and so is the average fuel consumption!  Yet the cost of gas varies quite a bit!  Now please don't "check the math" the numbers don't make perfect sense because sometimes I didn't have the exact numbers  or sometimes I omitted the Liters used or the KM driven but it pretty much all averages out in the end.  What is dead on unfortunately is the cost :(

Year  DOLLARS   KM            Litres    L/100KM
2007  $2,022.87   15,109.04   1,750.16   11.68222111
2008  $3,552.36   17,893.32   1,291.63   11.50951299
2009  $2,228.93   16,732.00   1,792.25   11.41647544

I've noticed that your fuel economy is getting better year after year.

'08 was the year of the 1.25 gas I believe as well.  Fuel economy is getting better, function of better vehicles or better driving?
