The Hummer H2 and the truck or whatever is the height of style silliness...   they are caricatures and look like overstuffed toys..   seriously it boggle me.   To me, they fall into Aztec territory.

The latest RAM is pretty good looking though.   The slant on the grill actually sort of reminds me of the full-size Jeep wagons.

No, Motor Trend.

The same publication that named the Camry the best midsized car. Yeah. Right.  ::)

Oh...so does that mean they were wrong to name the CTS car of the year in 2008 then?

Of course not.  With Catseye, it's only irrelevant and meaningless when it's a publication not favouring a domestic.   ::)

But I'm with Wing, I typically think that most designs are better than the previous generation.........although there are certainly exceptions.

Don't be ridiculous. MT's COTY has never meant a damn thing except which company paid them the most. And in any event, the Camry debacle was not a COTY auction competition, it was supposedly an objective test. Most other similar reviews placed it last or near-last in class. It's simply not a credible result.

Got proof of that?

I'll add SubaruOutback to my list of vehicles.  The previous generation is wicked cool; the current one- meh...

Me and Lady Osis are both glad we bought ours when we did. The current version does not appeal to us at all.

In this case Subaru finally got the size right (at least for my needs) but screwed up the looks. I like Subs and keep thinking I want to buy one but when it comes time to pull the trigger something always seems to make me go elsewhere.
My first ever GM ownership experience  can best be described as   "Fool me once...."

I really like what Ford has done with the Edge, it might even be enough for me to buy an american made vehicle..

It's actually Canadian made.   ;)    I Agree though.  I actually have an Edge Limited on order and will be arriving sometime next month.  It will actually be my first domestic in over 20 years.

Sailor:

I hear ya.  I think the new Forester is an improvement over the previous version but the Outback and the Legacy took a step backward.  Subies are always high on my list.  My biggest concern is the rather sparse dealer network in my part of the world (northern GTA).  The two closest dealers are a 1/2 hour drive and one of those franchises is pretty sketchy.  Also, there are lots of CUV/SUVs that offer V6 power for around $30K (Rav4, Escape, Sorrento, etc.).  I always tend to be drawn to the power.  Besides, I already have one slow car (wife's Civic).

We had a 2010 Edge AWD LTD on rental for a week and my wife and I really liked it. However, there's no way I'm paying 30 plus for something that small; it would be nice as a second vehicle though.

Ended up getting a 2010 F-150 XLT extended cab with a V8 and 6 speed for 19K - good cheap transportation plus I like how it looks; nice interior and it drives great. Pretty nimble vehicle for its size and it gets smaller once you get used to it.
