Where to buy tire totes/bags?
« on: October 04, 2010, 10:29:02 am »
I'd like to buy tire totes to store my tires properly. I've found this product on amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Seasonal-Tire-Tote/dp/B000KPIXEA) and was wondering if anyone knew where to find similar product locally (Ottawa) or online with reasonable shipping costs. I know Canadian Tire has some, but they look pretty cheap and small (they don't seem to cover all of the rubber). Any suggestions?

EDIT: Just noticed James had reviewed the Kurgo Tire Totes a couple of years ago: http://www.canadiandriver.com/2008/03/12/product-review-tire-tote.htm

Tirerack has them for $19.99 for the pair (branded with Tire Rack though) and shipping around $16. Also found them on 1010Tires at $26.99 with shipping about $12. A bit more than I was hoping to pay; still hoping to find them locally to save on shipping.

Also try Canadian Tire or Costco.

Got mine from Acura dealer for reasonable price - around 40 bucks if I recall.  Was in 2007 though

Try your Hyundai dealer -- since they would be superior to all others as well.       ;D  Couldn't resist.

 :rofl2:

I should have added that I bought them at the same time as I got my winter wheels & tires, and since i'm a "preferred customer" (so they tell me) i got a deal on the baggies

Canadian Tire sells them   http://reviews.canadiantire.ca/9045/0082000P/no-seasonal-tire-tote-reviews/reviews.htm

What I do, I have a tire stand from them on sale last year for $30 http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/AutoTools/CreepersJacksStands/PRD~0090073P/Tire%2BStand.jsp

You stack them and it comes with a cover so you cover all of the tires so you don't need 4 tire totes.

Right on the link you gave me... This product is no longer available.

Thanks for the help though...  ::)  ;)

Costco and Canadian Tire should have them in stock this time of year.  Princess auto also does have some but they are cheaper feeling.

canadiantire.ca only has one set of cheaper looking totes... I'll go there in person to see if they have different products. If not, I may just order from from 1010tires.com, although not cheap at $27/pair plus like $12 shipping.

Fall Catalogue. Page 243. Seems to be a decent product.  :)

Alright, I've downloaded the catalog and checked page 243. All I'm seeing are those 4 tire storage covers and spare tire covers at $19.99. I'm not seeing actual individual tire storage totes. Am I missing something?

That's what I got, a cover for four tires for under $10.

Yeah ok, not what I'm looking for. I want individual sturdy totes to ease storage, but also not to dirty myself too much when transporting the tires. Besides, I also need individual bags because I've built seperate shelves to store my tires.

I purchased the tire totes at Canadian Tire three years ago and they're holding up well.

4 garbage bags or ask a tire shop for some free plastic ones. I got some ones that say Pirelli. Fancy.

My Acura dealer has them for $40 for a set of four.  Surprised the hell outta me!
They gave them to me for free as they owed me a favor.
