price for 2010 toyota matirx
« on: September 08, 2010, 09:28:36 pm »
thinking about getting a new 2010 toyota matrix, the dealer offer 22,000(including tax and FDI) with the Touring Package. with 2500 off the MSRP
Is this a good price I can get on this car, or I'll get a better price from other dealers?

Am selling my brand new 2010 Matrix XR (only 800km on it - yes you read it right - eight hundred km - :( not a scam - just stuck in a bad situation financially soon after buying the car and need to sell it)

Let me know if you're interested.

You know there's a little something call car cost canada that can help.

22k on the ground doesn't seem bad. And 2500 off MSRP is about average. Question is are you financing or paying cash? There's a lot of factory rebate around this time for cash deals and 2500 is a bit slim for cash rebated. Also are they tacking other crap on to make you pay more money? Like rust proofing?

Agree with Gotak.

Just from my recent experience purchasing from Toyota - basically as always your best bet is paying cash purchase price where you can save a whole bunch - officially they say the rebate offered by Toyota is $2000 off MSRP as a rebate for cash purchase - but ofcourse I always try to get the dealer to bring the price down to cost + maybe 5% for their profits and then the cash rebate on top of that - just know what's being included in the price, keep negotiating it lower and compare at other dealers - for example in my case I actually got them to waive their admin fee, completely declined all of their hocus-pocus rustproofing, VIN etching etc etc - no frills. In the end just through negotiating an comparing thru different dealerships - ended up saving ~$4000-5000 that too for an XR model with the more powerful engine and 5 speed auto gearbox
