Thank you for your feedback guys, you did help push me in the right direction. Tried three TL's in the last few days, impressive, but slightly weird as well. So far, my longest experience in a TL was for a 15 minute ride. Having now tried several, my impression did shift a bit. The car is solid, excellent build quality (although I did notice the "rattling" issue in one), but it drives kind of strange. It's the steering that I found to be quite a "turn-off", since it was seamless, void of any steering feeling whatsoever. The same on all three. At the moment, the car exhaust, ride and excellent overall value is keeping me from turning away, but I do have to admit though, I'm slightly disappointed.

The search for "My TL" continues, despite the numb steering. Thanks for helping.

PS: the most serious contestant so far has 65K on it, everything else - navi = $18.9K. A bit on the pricey side. The other two were in the $16.5K, $17K range respectively, with 90K km, 85km.
UPDATE: found another 06 TL for $13.9K, but has 150K. Not sure if that may be a tad too many km's for this one, although the price is quite attractive.

I'd second trying a Type S, although one will cost you a couple of extra $K

I had a TSX before the TL, and I actually prefer the old TSX - for the same reasons you say - the TSX had a very nimble precise feel thats not quite there in the TL, although the TL is still pretty good for a FWD car.  The Type S would have a sharper feel.
The TSX does lack the V6 punch the TL has, however.

  • I'd get a ZR-1...but the interior sucks.

Now that I've driven a car to 240,000 or so km, I'd have no issue buying a car with 150K on it.  It's a great buy as the higher mileage really creators the value.  I'd check to make sure it's been maintained well.
If it flies, floats or f#%&s...rent it.

Perhaps try out a TL-S? It will be pricier but maybe you'll like it much more. Doesn't hurt to find out.

I don't mind the steering in my TSX (great on center feel and nicely weighted imho) but I guess the TL is a heavier car.

The TSX's steering feel is significantly better than the TL's IMHO.  It was the first thing I noticed in trying the two cars.  And the TSX (= european Accord EuroR) steering is a main reason I bought the car.  If I remember correctly, the TL was built for American tastes.

I agree your suggestion to Newman to try the TL-S.  In addition to looking sharp, it may have had its steering improved.

However, if in the end, the steering still bothers you, I dunno...  Steering feel is very important to me, personally.  I think I'd re-consider the Bimmer in that case.

I have no idea if this dealer is any good or not, but they have a LOT of used Acuras, including TL-S.  You don't find a TL-S that frequently (well, at least not where I live), and they have several, so I thought this might give you an idea for pricing...
