Untrue. There were different models.. SS vs SS supercharged offered in 07.The turbo replaced the supercharger for 08.
I must say I love the enthusiasm here. I found a really nice black E39 that I'd get in a heartbeat. It's just hard to recommend it to a friend you've known for a very long time.
