ok what about the fusion sport AWD?
« on: August 15, 2010, 11:58:28 am »
With their "employee pricing" it's actually pretty good deal even with their shitty finance rates. It's a better buy than a 3.6R legacy from the looks of it.

Anyone have some experience with the new fusions?

The gas's going to be a bit expensive but at least it's regular right?

I drove one in Vancouver last month.  I took it to Whistler.  Both I and my girlfriend were quite impressed with it.

Like the Legacy 3.6R, the power is decent rather then explosive.  The Fusion has really nice front seats and I like the black leather with white stiching.  The Sync/Sat/HD radio was great.

We actually may pick one up for her in a few years if they drop in value as North American cars only can.

Their finance rate is pretty horrible though. It would be almost the choice for me if the rates were a bit better.

Recently booked a small car rental while visiting Edmonton. When only a Suzuki Swift was available, they offered me an Impala upgrade and I took it. Typical  GM highway floater, I wasn't enjoying it. Went back to airport rental on the way down to Canmore, trying to change to a Versa. Instead they offered me a just returned Fusion AWD. Beautiful car, handled like a sports car compared to the Impala. Not sure how it compares to Camry, Accord and others of that class, but it felt like how I imagined those cars to be. (I am used to driving smaller cars). I would really consider a Fusion as my next car. In summer I couldn't tell how the AWD is, but a used car salesman recently told me Ford now uses the same awd technology as Subaru. Not sure if this is true.

Any comments on how the Fusion stacks up with its competition?

If we had decided on a sedan, the Fusion and Regal were at the top of our list.
