Supra are great stock...

I got to drive the 1st generation Supra (early 80s) when my mom bought a car at the local Toyota dealership. At the time, I really wanted one. Even the Celica GT (or was it a GTS) was nice. It had some of the components off a Supra.

Then the 2nd generation came out. A cleanly styled car; probably the only Toyota that ever was. I could have gone for one as a daily driver as well.

I wasn't all that impressed with the 3rd generation Supra and that grab handle hanging off the rear. Then there was the price; for a Japanese car at the time it was way over the top...what were they thinking.

Whatever happened to Toyota's Celica and Supra in the line-up today?
What you won't find in my car is a coffee, cigarette and a cell phone. What you will find is a driver; imagine that, a driver in a vehicle. What an effing concept!

A car has to do more than just perform; it has to stir your soul!

A true driver's car does not have cup holders.

Umm....most of the great 90s car went away when the value of the yen was $$$$.  I mean, think about it..in 1994, a Supra Turbo was almost $70k!!!!!
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

I could never get over how fast the price jumped. The generation prior was priced similar to higher trim Camaros and Mustangs. Suddenly it's priced like Porsche or BMW. Not saying it wasn't worth it, but it was definitely out of my range.

I know...nuts!!! (now where is that stupid icon)

I'll have to check Wiki now to find out what a Mark IV was...did I miss a generation of Supras?

edited to add: I missed the 1st generation...those ugly 1978 to 1981 models of Supras. The ones I like are the 2nd and 3rd generation models. The Mark IV did nothing for me...almost as ugly as the 1st generation.

Yea, but that's the one that was the performance king.  They even picked it over the Porsche 911 Turbo in a couple reviews....

But yea, the styling, especially with the big (but functional) spoiler was love it or hate it...

It may have been, but if you believe in reviews, then you might remember the 3 (or 4) car shoot-out...the M3 with less HP won on the track. We're talking apples to apples...stock...you can make any car shine if you mod it and stick enough $$$ into it.

Personally, I have zilch use for reviews. They are advertizing tools and trumpet blowing sessions! I never bought a motorcycle or car based on one. I chuckle when I come across anyone that base their buying decision on the 0-60 and 1/4 mile time sheets in car or motorcycle magazines. You'll find that they are usually lacking in one physical area.

Depends on the colour. The red one on Wiki looks great. And in the end, for that money, I'd buy a nearly new Porsche.
