I was very impressed with rrocket's IS350.  A very worthwhile car.

That sounds high for a car with 100K.

What's up next on your 'to test' list?

EDIT: I just checked, Black Book trade in value is between 23K to 26K (26K for top condition).  I ticked off all the options.  I guess that might explain some of the price.  I'd still find it too high, even with CPO.  I don't think I'd care about CPO with a Lexus...

I think that car would qualify as top condition. $28k CPO'd would seem okay on that basis. These things hold their value stubbornly apparently.

The irritating part is in the US, a brand new IS350, fully loaded, is around $48k I believe. Would have to do some digging.

Next I think A5 or CLK.
Everything in life is relative.

A 2009 model with ~15k on it can be had in the US for $28-29K US.

What's wrong with Buicks?  ::) ..There are a lot of fast buicks around. To the OP: What are you really thinking? Your gonna dump your car, and buy something with 100k on it? That's not moving forward your going sideways. Lexus perception eh?  Buying a vehicle with 100k and paying a payment for it plus the repair costs doesn't make sense.

Keep the Honda and buy a toy. A fast summer toy, something you can take to a track and enjoy. Why were you looking at a Lexus? I thought you wanted something fast  ;D. A 99 Regal GS is faster than that slouch.
2.0L is a soft drink, not an engine size.

I don't have a problem with the Buick name but uhhg that grille.

What about a Passat CC 2.0T with a stick and an APR chip?

Or you could supercharge the TSX for about 5 K

Never said I was going to buy it. I just wanted an example of an IS350 to try out. Also I don't recall saying anything about the Lexus perception?

Also I wouldn't call an IS350 a slouch. Compared to a GNX maybe, but these are totally different cars. The GNX and modern renditions of the same concept don't appeal to me. I mean geez I'm shopping a CLK350.

The A5 is more coin, even for the 4 pot. Likewise the 350....and no manual. Oops, forgot you didn't want to row your own ala the Lexus.

Yeah, the A5 is just a pure style proposition. CLK is the soft-spot wafter car. Old hat though.
No intention for a manual.

GF wanted to try some SUVs today actually so we tested an Q5 and a EX35. I didn't actually drive the Q5 since the salesman was rushing us like mad. Plus I wasn't inspired after riding in it while my gf drove.

The EX was really nice though. Handles really well for what it is, and although not as well appointed as the Audi it is a pretty decent value. Neato camera thing. GF said it drove a gazillion times better than the Q5.

Salesman was also 100x better. Would like to give him biz if I get the chance. Infiniti Markham if anyone cares, the guy's name is Jason. Pretty obvious car guy.

Officially adding the EX to the list. Hits all the right boxes and has the added benefit of practicality. I have the Z4 for hooliganing around.

Also just a thought, if anyone is in the market for a $60k big baller sedan, check out that new Infiniti M. It just reeks of pure opulence. Incredible stuff. Didn't drive it but just sitting in it feels like $60k easily.

At this early juncture it feels inevitable. Its basically the same as the Lexus to me, with the following differences:

+ Cheaper
+ AWD
+ Practical
+ Incredibly smooth shifts

- Slower. Doesn't feel like 300hp although I wasn't able to really give it the beans.
- Probably worse handling due to height, but in practical terms a minute difference.
- Slightly lower gadget factor.

Maybe in your dreams   ;D.....The 99 Regal GS 0-60 in 6s at best.  Quarter mile mid-high 14s.

IS350 0-60 in mid-low 5s.  Quarter mile mid 13s. (I was banging off 13.8s at Sparta last weekend in terrible conditions).

Oh...not to mention, the Regal GS is down 70HP to the Lexus....

How long has the Genesis sedan been out, a used one of those would be a bargain, must depreciate like a stone.

What about a GS430 from the states?

2010 Genesis Sedan with 3.8 and low, low miles for under $30K US easy.
Same for the Infiniti EX.

Genesis Sedan is intriguing but I'm afraid it would be too much of a barge.
Ditto GS although I also have a soft spot for that one.

Will have to test a local one.

I thought you wanted a bargain barge to waft about in?

There are well over 100 Genesis on the US AutoTrader site priced between $25 and $30k USD.
