2011 Hyundai Tucson
« on: July 23, 2010, 11:03:24 am »
doesn't appear to be another thread of the 2011 Tucson, so time to start one.

I was looking at their website to see if they had the 2011 info yet and they do, as I was curious with regards to the comparison to the 2011 Sportage as they use the same platform and powertrain.  However, it looks like things have changed in the marketing of these two vehicles as the 2011 Tuscon has now a lower base price of $20,999, but this is arrived at with a smaller 2.0L with 165 hp @ 6200 and a 5 speed manual transmission.  Its called the L model and you can get a 6 spd auto at $22,799.

I'm wondering now if the Tucson will get the turbo that they Sportage is scheduled to get early next year?

Well now that's interesting. My parents are in the market for such a vehicle... that is very good power for a 2.0L engine. No details as to what it is exactly?

No interest in this thread?  My '06 Sonata comes off lease early in 2011 and I'm going to have a look at the Tucson in addition to the new Sonata.  Having had two SUV's prior to my Sonata, I miss riding high.  Here's a review I recently read, which says enough good things that I'm going to take it out for a spin.

I purchased a 2009 Hyundai Elantra brand new. Since then the car has had nothing but problems (starting three days after purchse). Of course my "amazing" Hyundai warrenty covers none of this. Upon independent mechanic review I have found the dealership lied about what repair was needed! When I contacted Hyundai Corp they sent me an insulting stock letter, the jist: "So sad, to bad!" I've put over $3000 into my brand new car since 2009. I'm not sure how or why consumer reports believes in this sub-standard  "product"? Buyer beware here: Hyundai/Kia sounds like a good deal but like most things that sound to good to be true Hyundai is as well!

From my experience I'd never purchase from Hyundai again and I'll be making sure none of my friends and family make the same mistake as me.
