2012 Toyota Yaris.
« on: July 13, 2010, 08:06:54 am »

LOL This is supposedly the next gen 2010 Toyota Yaris/Vitz Renderings (Codename 830L). Looks a bit Swift to me the top one.  Should be interesting to see how all turns our. As far as know from what read they hardly going to go radical it will look pretty much like the last model. Boring.....

Picture 1 is identical to the current one, and so is Picture 2, save for the front fascia...

The 3rd blue one is pretty tight. Rather like it.

Those pictures have been floating around for a few years now. They are pure speculation, and do not represent anything official from Toyota.

Looks alright... I'm sure it'll be a fine car and they will sell in the millions but there's nothing really interesting or distinct about it like the Fiesta or the Fit. That's ok I guess. I wonder if the ho-hum styling and the slight hit in Toyota's reputation will hurt this car. The next gen Accent is a bit of a looker, the Fiesta and Mazda2 have very distinctive and upscale styling, plus the Fit looks pretty good on the road right now after it's redesign.

If they can come up with some sort of interesting design feature or really good packaging then that may make the difference.

Looks like a great car for people who don't like cars.

The last pic in silver seems to be some TRD version (notice those skirts and pipes) so it could be just for JDM. The red one above looks like everything else Toyota has been designing for the past 100 years in the segment, just something to get you reliably and economically from A to B. In person the new Fiesta looks much awesomer.

You are correct sir!  Many ppl do not like cars.  Every DAY customers walk into a new car dealers showroom and ask just one thing: "what is the absolute cheapest new car I can buy?".  In Toyota's case it's currently the Yaris in base form.  It's certainly not the most attractive ride among it's competitors, but it is the most reliable in the very long term say 10 to 15 years.  Yaris drive trains and electronic control systems are indestructible as wiener cars go and the resale values support that.  :)

Interesting that it has only one big front wiper.

Interesting that it has only one big front wiper.

Just one blade to replace and a less complicated wiper mechanism.  Yaris needs to stay true to the "most basic" vehicle strategy to keep it going.

I'm glad they did.

No kidding! The weird dash was enough to make me ignore the Yaris completely. With a proper dash, the Yaris would be back in contention when/if I need a compact car.

some more cladding shots from Leftlane

Don’t look for the 1.3-liter start-stop version to make it to North America, although that model remains a distinct possibility for Europe. It would likely be too costly and not offer enough power to satisfy North American consumers.

Sez who?

Here it is....Don't get too excited. Looks more like a face and interior lift. Not really new pictures either. So no surprises here.

Meet the next Toyota Yaris! These are the first official pictures of the next generation Toyota supermini which will arrive in the UK in September 2011. The pictures show the Japanese market car, which is called the Vitz, but the Yaris will look much the same when it arrives here.
