I'd still go with the Miata Julie.  I would agree with Wing that you can find one for $3,000.  They may be higher mileage...and I don't know if that's a huge problem or not.

Aha!!!  See Wing, that wall did come out and bite that Z06 guy!!!

What happened to the STi...was that the fire?

Distracted by the interior, no doubt......
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

All that low quality plastic in the STi must have went up in smoke given it was so hot.
If it flies, floats or f#%&s...rent it.

Qone sti had turbo lines blow and catch fire.  One smashed the wall hard, do not lift mid-corner.

I know...and I was talking about the STi.

I thought drop throttle over-steer was only in a 911.  Oh wait...I watch NASCAR...so make that drop-throttle looseness?

If you are entering a corner at speed lifting off the throttle shifts the weight of the vehicle forward making the rear of the car light and off you go.

All cars are really the same, to drive one fast you must understand and be able to apply the theory of weight transfer.  Once you master this you can drive a car at increedible speed well within it's limits.

Finally this weekend i was able to enter corner 1 at bogie at over 160km/h and be comfortable doing it lap after lap.... So much fun!

Yeah any car will do that, throw the weight forward, more grip at the front, less at the rear.  This is how you can drift FWD cars.

It's much more pronounced and harder to correct in a mid-engined or rear-engined car just because the weight transfer is much greater so you get that pendulum effect.  The MR2 and Exige both did this, that's how I spun the Exige off the road, lifted mid corner when it tightened up on me.
Power is how fast you hit the wall... Torque is how far you take the wall with you!

All about training I suppose.

I was "driving" a house-boat on the weekend, and had an awful time parking that damn thing due to:

  • There's no brakes!
  • It's effectively rear-wheel steer
  • You can maneuver with forward thrust AND rearward thrust (cue Safffy)
  • The houseboat is a big sail, so wind plays a big role.
  • There's no brakes!

It makes me glad to get back into the airplane...at least I know how to steer that thing.

Quiz: So what does the rudder do on an airplane?
What you won't find in my car is a coffee, cigarette and a cell phone. What you will find is a driver; imagine that, a driver in a vehicle. What an effing concept!
