..anyone KNOW what percentage of the cost of a car is Labour?...............don't they assemble these things in a hour NOW........and how come will still have assembly plants in CANUSA  unless the labour portion is comparatively TINY....some facts folks and less BULLSHIP..... :stick:................... ??? :light:

That's not the point.  The point is...given the choice...the automakers would rather pay LESS for this task.  And if that means finally getting fed up and moving all production down south, they will.  That's why I said they need to get wages a bit more in line with reality so the automakers aren't tempted to move.

well to be factual they would rather PAY LESS in the main for the "LOSS LEADERS" or small cars that generate FEW if any PROFIT and have to compete with the currency manipulations and hidden "benefits" from Korea /Japan....why pay $40 when it takes $1,000 out of a car that barely makes that profit..................there are massive investments in US foreign companies in the profitable arena.........discuss amongst yerselves...I have a BEER CALLING ME........and the Ladies are waiting to fan and GRAPE me................. ;D.....
THERE IS NO CURE FOR "LOTUS"......ONLY TREATMENT.....

That's like $40k/yr.

I have a pretty decent job (on an absolute basis anyways, on a relative basis I'm way underpaid) and benefits package and according to HR the value of my benefits/pension is barely more than $14k/yr. This even includes the EI/CPP! God dammit now I'm sad.

Need a union gig.

It's not just the "loss leaders" that are made in Mexico.  The Fusion, one of the best selling Fords, and certainly one that has ample room for profit is made in Mexico.  Dodge had their heavy duty trucks made in Mexico, Chevy Avalanche, etc...And you can :censor: and moan about the phantom "currency manipulation" from Japan.  The fact is, the biggest sellers from Japan, those that make up the majority of sales in NA, are either made in Canada or the USA...so there would be no effect from currency manipulation (if it wasn't a figment of your imagination)
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....
