New old toy for me
« on: June 23, 2010, 10:47:20 am »
Sorry for the crappy photo, it won't stop raining.
How many people think it's nuts to buy a 20 year old Audi? ;D

I do, I do!  Of course, it's also nuts to buy a 20-month old Audi... though I still lust after S4s.  :)

Always loved the shape of those Audi coupes (and the preceding generation of same).

Nuts? Yes....But that is a cool car. How much work does it need?

Love the square shapes of the older German cars.

Nice buy!

Yes you are nuts..now if it was a Quattro Ralley car the insanity could be excused.

Looks like its really good cosmetically. I always though the Coupe would look great with some modern 17 inch rims and tires maybe lowered a bit. Good luck and have fun

Well, it was healthy enough for a few laps at Shannonville last evening.   Not too fast though.
Front struts are pooched, blown, knackered, needs a bit of exhaust work too.
I have a few goodies like a cold air intake, bigger throttle body, stainless muffler, etc. kicking around that should go  on it once I get it e-tested and safetied.  It's an early 20 valve so it already comes with a bundle of snakes 5 into one.

I guess that isn't that bad for 20 years old. How did the interior hold up?

Sounds like it will be a nice hobby car. Maybe some winter ice racing also?

Yes, the only type of Audi I have ever owned.  The engine is very forward in these, the rad is beside it.
Love the sound of the I-5.

That looks like my previous car.  I had an '88 Audi A90.  Money pit for quite a few years, but I loved her all the same.  She was a tank.
