New Sentra SE-R
« on: April 19, 2010, 11:26:07 am »
Picked up my new '10 SE-R this weekend.  Non Spec V model.  Great little car.  Plenty of power and torque, the sport tuned CVT is wonderful, just step on the go pedal and you get instant shiftless power.  I really like the CVT.  You can drive very economically too, a standard acceleration with traffic keeps the revs at no more than 1500rpms... I'm eager to see what kind of mileage I can do with this.  The manual mode with paddle shifters works well.  The computer simulates "gears" on the CVT by dropping the rpms with each shift, and its very responsive and quick... Like VW DSG quick.  I've always had small cars with manual transmissions, but I'll be the first to admit that it does get tiring and tedious on the day to day communte in traffic.  This CVT with paddle shift will be a nice alternative.

Car handles very well.  It's much firmer than the standard Sentra or even the Versa I had, but not too firm.  Very point-and-shoot steering.  I'm sure the 17" wheels and 225/45 tires help too.  The seats are great too, hold you in quite nicely.  I love the iPod intergration.  Plug it in the usb port, and it's fully controlled through the radio controls.

I'll be sure to get some pics later today!

Great choice, what color.

Orange!  The interior is some SE-R only black with aluminum and machined type metal accents here and there, and the seats have white stitching on them...

Congratulations!  Nice car.  The interior is particularly nice.  Now before anyone else chimes in, let me be the 1st to say....

All the same reasons I picked up my 2009 Sentra SE-R!   Great choice on the colour....I wanted the electric blue but it was year end so selection was limited....likely a good thing (for me) 'cause you WILL stand out in the seal of white / black / silver to the local speed enforcement authorities.   ;D

Certainly one of the most overlooked sporty cars out there in this price range.

Congratulations!!

That's been my experience as well.  Congrats on the new ride and get moving on those pics.  Please.  :)

The floor isn't dirty!  It's my huge rubber mats, that I've had for ages... I use them all year round, keeps the floor and carpet in immaculate shape.

After a few days now, this is definitely a great little car.  It's very fun to drive.  A drivers car.  The larger wheels, 177hp, the paddle shifters, the sport suspension (springs), looks, seats, all of it, make it a very fun car to drive.  But it's not as hardcore as a high revving Civic SI or as expensive as a GTI...
