actualy the US model have the option for Infinity with 9 speakers..
interesting...you are correct...it looks like it might be part of the Nav package...i wonder if you get the Nav package here, if you get the Infinity sound system...it would only make sense they were equipped the same...a Canadian Spec only model wouldn't make sense.

Yet everyone does it..

Please tell me you are not shocked by the notion of US and Canadian models having different equipment specs, different model designations, different colour options, different pricing....

let me be more specific...i realize our choices in Canada (for the Sonata, since we are talking about that particular car) are much more limited...for example, the Turbo in Canada is only offered in black, whereas the US has a few multi-coloured options as well...i understand from a business reason that limiting choices (for our relatively small market) makes sense, as it helps keep costs down, but having two separate radio packages doesn't make sense...it would make sense that the radio packages are the same, meaning, if you get the NAV package in the US and you end up with the Infinity system, the same would the case here...the only difference being that our loaded model will have limited colour choices and pricing would be different (keep in mind, they don't have 0% interest for 84 months on the Turbo in the US, like they did here - the US is more about "cash and carry" pricing, and you go to a financial institution and get a loan at 6% or use your home equity and write a cheque, it's a different market down there)...i built one on the US site (loaded 2.0T), and there are 3 interior trim choices (camel/black, black, black/wine), they charge $200 extra for "Shimmering White" (which is called "Glacier White Pearl" here and doesn't have an additional charge), but if you have the NAV package, it would only make sense it would be the exact same "kit" installed as what is used in the US...i'm not saying that isn't the case, because it appears that it isn't done that way, but perhaps that will change in the 2012 model...the whole purpose of limiting choices is to keep costs under control by having set "models" all built the same way to maximize efficiency...in the US, there are only 2 Sonata models (NA version), the GLS and SE (and you can add a few features/packages to them), whereas we have the GL, GLS, Limited and Limited w Nav with NO ability to deviate from the included features...i actually don't mind the "no deviation" thing, as it helps us get well equipped models for a better price, but i would like to see the Infinity Sound system on our loaded model.
