Import Queen's new work "beater".
« on: April 05, 2010, 07:49:59 pm »
Import Queen needed a new work beater, and she couldn't go another summer without A/C (no A/C in Echo).  So here's a her new beater.  2002 Accord Coupe EX.  4 cylinder 5 speed...loaded with every option, leather, power everything, moonroof, etc..  High mileage, but every receipt since new..and we didn't pay much for it either.  Should be a top notch work car.

How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

~200,000kms.  All maintenance up to date.  All receipts since new.  Most kms highway (owner works across the county...125km round trip per day).

Car is mint.  Undercarriage oil sprayed, interior is super mint.  Just a well taken car of car.  Should serve us well as a beater.

Nice upgrade from an Echo!  :)

It is...but reliability wise, and MPG wise, the Echo is tops.  Tough like an anvil.  I think it will rust away before it actually breaks.   ;D

Looks super clean.  Could be the nicest beater I've seen in a long time.

Your often find that with a high miller, that can be a good thing. Most parts that would have gone will have been replaced. So should go for another 50,000,60,000 clicks you'd hope with too many issues.  Nice car love the Accords.  ;)

Why does she need a beater, why can't she drive the Lexus?

Why does she need a beater, why can't she drive the Lexus?

1) MPG
2) She loves her car, and doesn't want to pound it over the city streets with her nice wheels
3) Some douche threw a brick through her window in her IS.  So better through the beater than her IS.

Which neighbor. So I'll know where to avoid don't want to buy a house there LOL. Down there in Windsor Honda and Toyota seem to be an awful lot less them on the road. I noticed that straight away mostly domestics on the road. Dodge's mainly. The road surface's seem really rough. BTW how much did you pay. my guess would be around 6K. Where did you find such a nice car Kijiji?

Yea..the union mentality is at times over-the-top here.  I've had my Echo keyed, and it's a known fact that import cars get "rough treatment" here.  The is a Big 3, union city...so beware if you drive an import.

Congrats to Import Queen. Looks to be in really good shape and I`m sure it will serve her very well. If you can swing it in terms of parking space etc., it`s nice to have an older but comfortable car like this for winter or more risky daily duties. Someone keys it or gives you a huge door ding it`s no biggie.
