CanuckG35's show post!
« on: March 25, 2010, 08:12:19 am »
Here are a couple pictures of my stable.  I know it's not obvious, but I'm a big fan of red.   ;D   I own a detailing business in southern New Brunswick so my vehicles are always spotless.   :)

I don't see any HERCULES tires tied on the side of the boat.

I know it's not obvious, but I'm a big fan of red.   ;D

So am I. My 1990 BMW R100 GS is red.

I also like silver. Black is one colour (actually, black and white are not colours) that I do not like. Looks good in the showroom, but too much work to maintain.

Red when polished and waxed shows greater depth than most colours. So I have noticed.
What you won't find in my car is a coffee, cigarette and a cell phone. What you will find is a driver; imagine that, a driver in a vehicle. What an effing concept!

A car has to do more than just perform; it has to stir your soul!

A true driver's car does not have cup holders.

It's probably parked on a Caribbean island for the winter.

Thanks gents.  Btw, the pic of the S2K with the yacht in the background was taken in Bar Harbor, Maine.  Both the G and the S2K are extremely fun to drive, just for very different reasons.

If anyone in southern NB wants their vehicle professionally detailed, just let me know.   ;D

Very nice, CanuckG35. Love the reds. Red doesn't always work on larger sedans, but it works just fine on the G. I once had a '76 BMW 530i in a bright red (Verona Red) w Mahle BBS gold spoked alloys and it was one of the sharpest looking cars I have had.

Enjoy.

^ Agreed that reds don't always work well on larger Sedans.  Your 530i sounds like it was a beauty.  I know the gold BBS wheels you speak of and they look fantastic against red.  I've had my G35 3.5 years now and I've really enjoyed it.  The Garnet Red has a split personality.  It looks completely different in direct sunlight than it does on a cloudy day.  I had a black G35 before this one and it was definitely more work to keep clean.  It's a very rewarding color when clean though.

I know that it'll depend on the condition, but lets assume good non-faded paint, but with the usual fine scratches and swirls due to improper washing procedures.

How long does it take you to do a pro job on the paint alone - bumper to bumper on most mid sized cars of today such as you G.

Just curious because I and many do our own.

^ I would say an average job for me (paint alone) on a mid sized car like the G is approximately 10 hours.
