For what?
Rebuilt ones are usually from $125-200.  New can be whatever crazy numbers they want, usually less than $350 though.

and i just wanted to get an idea of how much an alternator, preferably new, would cost. i have a chrysler neon nothing fancy, i have to replace the alternator for it.
