No I'm not sure if I'm going to get these this year or next, but I'm gonna start looking anyway.

I'm after some Summer rims (19") as I'll be using the stock 18's for snow tires.  But I can't decide either what style looks best with the GC, or what colour looks good with blue.

My personal favourites are BBS (RS-GT or LM) types and gun metal or black.  But I'm not sure the BBS style goes with the GC.  And also black wheels in Canada can look like you are on Winters all year.

So a couple of mock ups.

Volk TE37's I love, but can't afford:

These are AME TM-02's which I quite like.

I think 5 or 6 spokes seem to look good on this car, and I don't mind not getting forged as long as they are strong like the AME's by Enkei.  I love the 5 twin spoke rims on the GC concept (sort of like the BMW M6 rims) but can't seem to find any like them.

So any idea, thoughts anyone? I don't want anything bling, with a shiny rim or anything like that.  NISMO LMGT4's seem nice too, but no idea how much they are new. I am guesstimating my budget at around $500-$700 per rim.

I was hoping you would chime in!  Grin

Plus I still want your opinion on the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's as Summer tires.

LOOOOVE them.  All time favorites.  As you know, they put down ALL of the Supras power with minimal spin.  Few tires can claim that.

Too bad these aren't available in 19" yet.  I think they would impress with performance and price, if not longevity.

I don't think the dark / gun metal colour matches well with your blue...
The Volk's in the top pic are niiiiceee   Drool

I agree with you that 5 or 6 spoke rims would look best.

I've always preferred wheels where the spokes intersect the rim section (like the GC concept).  The style of the first two make the wheels look smaller than they really are.

I agree, 5 or 6 spoke would look good.   For a bright blue body, I think a aluminum / silver colour would look better than dark grey or gun metal.

The problem with silver is that a lot of the silver aftermarket rims are very shiny, and I don't want the shiny rim look.  After looking at the 330i thread I rather like this brand:

http://www.velocitymotoring.com

Either the 710's, 718's or the VB3's.

22" spinners.  Also, get the offset so that the tire sticks out past the sheetmetal.

How is it possible that after electricity has traveled through hundreds of miles of power line then hundreds of feet (or yards) of romex in our home, that changing the last three feet of wire with something exotic, expensive (cool looking, and packaged in a pricey box) is going to make a difference?

710 looks pretty nice too.   Ok, could someone please photochop them to Bob's car?

Brave guy. 19s will likley be heavy unless you get expensive ones plus staggered 19 inch tires (that you can't rotate) are not going to be cheap.

The TE37s in 18 inch size are on closeout at tirerack right now (the blue lettering would look good on your blue car)

2k US for the set.

I've seen MANY 19s (not just expensive ones) that are lighter than most OEM 18" wheels.

The top end 2.0T and 3.8L both come on 19's as std, I don't think they would be much heavier.  I wish I could afford the TE37s, but I can't purchase right now, just browsing at the moment.

On second look you are right. I guess I shouldn't make assumptions like that. It doesn't take much to be lighter than OEM wheels. The 18s I had were 28 lbs. tire rack lists only 2 19s for Genieis coup that are less than 26 lbs and one of them is over 1K per wheel.

It all depends on what the defitnion of "light is".

If its looks you are after I wonder if lowered on 18s would look better than stock ride height on 19s.

I kinda like the looks of these
