Rut Ro III
« on: March 07, 2010, 09:17:02 pm »
Rut Ro III is home. I’m cranky and tired after a weekend of work and driving so I will post more pics and comments later.

However.... I will say it in nice to have a gearbox and brakes. On the negative side I’m not happy about having to depress a switch each time I turn on the ignition to disable the electronic nannies.

The switch, note winter boots:

The Rut Ro progression is always awaited.

Are you going with the same mods?

Congratulations Snowman! Rut Ro III looks awesome. The current gen WRX/WRX STi looks great in white too.

Looking forward to hearing your impressions vs. Rut Ro II.

Congrats!

Care to share why you chose the STI over the regular WRX? I also much prefer the STI, but thought I remember you saying you'd rather have the base car and mod it into your own STI killer.

And I'm loving the wheels, too. What are they, and will that be your summer or winter setup?

Thanks all.

Yes Wing it is white and on purpose  :) I struggled with going the WRX and mod vs. and STi and in the end wanted fun right out of the box. I still may go with a plug and play COBB Stage I AccessPort to augment what is there.

I am pleased with the additional leg room in the rear and now I can fit back there with the front seats moved all the way back. I'm not pleased with the loss of hatch cargo space due to the rear passenger room and angle of the rear hatch  :( no more picking up lawn mowers at the shop after a round of golf.

The winter wheels shown in the pic are Sport Edition with Bridgestone Blizzak WS60FZ 235 45 R17...was told not to wonder over 160  :(

Congrats on the upgrade!  I've loved every version of the STI, this one the most.

Great picture with both side by each, shows the similarities and differences of the two.

Congrats.

Bummer about the loss of the full wagon, but still an amazing ride. I was at the dealership this weekend.....I too need a new ride yet this year.

Did you go with the tech package? (Sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere)

I'm eager to hear your impressions of new vs. old.

This will be fun to follow as you get your impressions vs II.  Not much can be done about the loss of space, seems that Subaru is cutting some models, like the wagon versions of this and the Legacy as they have other offerings that would work (Forester and Outback).

I must say that STI looks real sharp in white.  I like it better than the boy rally racer blue that is much too typical.

Very, very nice! :winner:

I was wondering about the STi vs WRX thing too. Thanks for the explanation.

Have fun! :skid:

:iagree: Get some tint on those windows and you'll have a real looker.

Great car... congrats. :skid:

Thanks again people.

It is hard to get a full understanding of the abilities of the STi when you are riving around on four rolls of electrical tape. It is +11 today and all i see in my rear view is two ribbons of black. I have caked on rubber around the wheel wells and I'm thinking I might have to disengage the sport mode and activate the electo-gizmos for a few weeks........or put on the summer shoes.

I still think my 2006 WRX was quicker to the 120-140 range but I have not mastered the extra gear and timing as of yet...890 km on the clock.

Yes tints and an under seat sub are on my short list.

Official Complaint No.4:

Insufficient side bolstering on the lower seat. My 2006 WRX was  better.
