Happy to be living now in Florida where we get 1.9% financing and now making the Mini affordable.  Now the Mini makes sense.

...part of the reason I love this car is because you can drive it, er, "enthusiastically", without feeling like a treekiller or feeling it at the pump. ;)

Right on. I have a photo of my previous Cooper's trip computer showing 913 km range to empty. Even in my current S with the turbo, bombing around in the city I can't do worse than 7.5 L/100 km, which is still good for 650+ km between fills.
