Just wondering: Is 1010tires planning to offer free shipping on in-Canada orders, starting in March, like they usually do each year? I'm looking to order a set of four wheels and tires, but wouldn't mind saving a buck or two.

Alright, we have been holding off answering this question because we were not too sure if we were going to offer the promo or not. Everything is now decided, so here we go. Instead of starting a new thread I will post details here.
Pretty simple really, all wheel and tire packages (four wheels and four tires, on the same order) shipped within Canada and the continental 48 states will receive free ground shipping, up to a maximum of $120. You will not see this credit applied until you checkout and pay for the order, so when you see a shipping charge in the shopping cart, don't feel as if you are not getting the promotion. Obviously if your shipping charge is more than $120, which will only happen on large, heavy product, or perhaps if you live on the east coast, you will only pay the difference on the shipping above $120.
Now, the offer is for free ground shipping. If ground shipping costs $80 and you want to expedite your order for $250 shipping costs, we are only going to cover the $80 for the ground shipping, not the $120 maximum. We want that to be clear.
The offer starts March 15th and runs through April 12th. Many people wait until the last few days to take advantage of the promo, but please keep in mind if you do, there will be delays on your order just based on sheer volume of orders.
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, Nathan, As it happens I placed my order for Enkei wheels and Yokohama tires with you guys on Mar 7 (Sun), with insured ground shipping. The reply I got said that it would be 7-10 days before you could ship my order to me, which would place it within the promotional period you mentioned. The customer service guys also said they would extend the "free shipping" promo to me if that happened, which looks very likely. For reference, my order number is 33926. |

Yeah, I don't see that being a problem. Cool package, BTW. That wheel is in massive demand. |

So I just received emails from 1010tires saying that 1) my wheels and tires have shipped and 2) that they've refunded me the ground shipping costs as per their current sales promotion. Thanks, 1010tires! Man, these are gonna look sweeeeeeet...hope they get here soon. |

So just to clarify, if I buy only 4 tires, but no rims, I don't get free shipping? About how much would shipping cost me (to toronto)? |

The cost for ground shipping from B.C. to Ottawa for my order was less than $70 before insurance, and that was for a set of four wheels and tires, so I imagine it would be cheaper for tires only. But I suppose Nathan could answer your question more precisely. |

Correct, only packages of four wheels and four tires will qualify for the promo. The easiest way to get the shipping cost is to enter the product into the shopping cart on the site, where you can enter your postal code for a shipping quote. You do not have to register or sign up to do this. |

OK Nathan, here you go... Basically what I've done is Plus-1 my wheels and tires for summer, as I can no longer find good performance rubber in the stock 14-inch size. Now I'm using my old 14-inchers for winter driving and have shod them with snow tires. CAR: 1999 Mazda MX-5 Miata BEFORE: stock Mazda five-spoke aluminum wheels, 15x6, 45mm offset, 4/100 pitch circle, 12.7-lb Tire size: 185/60R14 Current tires: Hankook Winter iPike W409 snow tires (not shown) Most recent summer tires: Yokohama AVS ES100 ultra-high performance summer tires (not shown) AFTER: Enkei PF01 split five-spoke aluminum wheels, 15x7, 41mm offset, 4/100 pitch circle, 12.0-lb Tire size: 195/50R15 Current tires: Yokohama S.drive ultra-high performance summer tires I think the new combo looks fantastic! Time to hits the streets! What do you guys think? Do you like baby's new shoes? |

No comparison, miles better. One problem however, it needs more tire shine. |
