You miss my point gentlemen. The 34 deaths from a faulty(?) part is probably insignificant compared to the normal rate of death from accidents/collisions/operator error
When did we become so numb that even one (preventable) death becomes insignificant?
But that's the thing. It almost impossible to prove it was the fault of the accelerator assembly. People die in other cars from unintended acceleration...usually (or presumed?) a fault of driver error. As is the case in most unintended acceleration accidents. Since it's such an intermittent problem, how do you prove one is driver error and the other is a supposed defective pedal?
