In need of a body shop
« on: February 06, 2010, 12:33:44 am »
It goes without saying what happened here. And no I wasn't the one driving.

So now I'm looking for a body shop to take care of this, plus some paint chips on the hood. What am I is she looking at $1200? I'll go out for some estimates tomorrow.

Ouch. Sorry to hear about the incident. I am guessing its about $1000.  :-\

We just got our Acura back today. It was hit on the driver's door in a parking lot. BIG dent, door was misaligned. Cost: about $1000 also.  >:( >:(

I bad mouth the Budds dealerships a lot...but the Budds auto shop in Oakville (South Service Rd...accross from the Oakville GO station) has done a good job for us in the past.

A bit far for you though.
If it flies, floats or f#%&s...rent it.

It's not as bad as I thought. The shop I went to quoted me for $500. The white Testarossa and the 964 they were working on pretty much closed the deal. And damn does that flat 12 sound nice.

Thanks for the suggestion TG.

I guess yours isn't too bad. Some minor paint work?

For our accident, we know the people through friends (coincidence), and they have been victims of the recession...so we decided to give them a break by splitting half the cost. We are too nice.  :-\

In a way that $500 would've gone towards the insurance deductible right? Ditto for them. It sucks that you have to deal with it all, find a good shop, then leave them the car for a couple of days etc.

There is a bit of a dent on the door, not too bad but it's there. We'll see how it goes, the owner seemed to be a stand up guy.

Yes, that is true. And it would have put a $1000 record on the car if we went through insurance.

Hope your body shop is good. They better be, if they're working on a Testarossa! ;)

We have used the same body shop for previous incidents, and they were great. They just renovated and got new equipment as well.
