Anyone can state their experience with their car's exhaust system longevity.
1999 Honda CR-VIt needed a new catalytic converter in the 9th year. It was totally clogged due to the inside disintegrating.
While I was at it, I replaced the downpipe prior to it and the B pipe after it just so that I wouldn't have to touch the exhaust system for another 9 years or until the car died at around 18 years. Those pipes and stainless steel resonator were fine, but the flanges were getting a bit thin due to corrosion.
The stainless steel muffler is still original and looks like the day the car was delivered.
Parts: all OEM from a discount Honda dealer in the USA.
Work: done right by myself.
1995 Porsche CarreraThe complete exhaust system is stainless steel and completely original.
