I'd love a van this size.  Too bad they nuked it, or that other manufacturers won't bring their 7 seat offerings to North America (Opel/Vauxhall Zafira, Ford S-Max, European Toyota Corolla MPV, etc).

The Odyssey/Sienna/Grand caravan is too big for 51 out of 52 weeks a year, and the Mazda5 is a great idea, but after test driving one I felt as though everything in it was designed for a midget - it was almost like all the furniture was shrunk by 20% to make the interior seem roomier.  I am also just under 6 feet tall, so I am not a giant by any means.  The Kia Rondo is a bit better but the 3rd row is still really tight (and a rather outdated looking vehicle, IMHO)

Both the Rondo, even with the V6, and the Mazda5 also felt underpowered and  - although good for everyday commuting, just maybe not a trip through the mountains.  A friend with a 5 also said he is disappointed in the fuel economy - only marginally better than the 03 Odyssey he traded in, and nowhere near advertised.  Of course the old MPV was thirsty for its size as well.

Geez, "decidely average". So which minivan from this era, other than maybe the Sienna, was better than average? The Honda from this time is renowned for its tranny failures. Same for the Dodges. I believe CR gives this van a better than average score for 05 and 06, at least.

But who wants to drive a Sienna...

At one point Lemonaid didn't recommend ANY minivans..so I suppose and avg rating isn't bad.
