Where are the Clean Diesels?

I'm disappointed by Jeep and VW at the NAIAS (Detroit). I expected their new SUVs, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee and VW's new Touareg that were promised. I'm interested in their clean diesel versions.
Has anyone heard any different?

We recently returned from a jaunt in the USA. A gallon of regular gasoline ran about $2.55. At these prices, I don't think there would be a lot of demand to justify the expense of certifying diesel engines and training dealers to service them. Diesels are cool but they come at a large price premium over gasoline engines. Besides, diesels have never sold in much volume in the USA, with the notable exception of heavy duty pick up trucks.

The current clean diesel SUVs are: Mercedes ML350 and GL350 Blutec, VW Touareg TDI, Audi Q7 3.0 TDI.
Currently diesel gas is cheaper than regular gas. Clean diesels produce ~30% less CO than gas engines and AdBlue reduces Nitous oxides also to lower levels. So Clean Diesels are cleaner than gas engines and are ~30% better with fuel mileage. It's the best solution for SUVs.
