Great...more distractions.
Why doesn't Ford concentrate on making the BEST car in its class - instead of all this eye candy, which (IMHO) is all secondary fluff. Just build a quality car - one that will run and look as good in ten years as it does now. I've got a feeling that a lot of car buyers don't care about all this NSYNC and connectivity stuff.

Well... the Ford Fusion Hybrid is probably the best mid-sized hybrid... actually it may even be in the running for best overall hybrid (factoring in all factors including fuel economy, comfort, utility, quietness, drivability, etc.). They do seem to be working hard to putting out some new products now or soon.  2010 Focus should be interesting and the Fusion refresh should be good for a couple of years.  The Escape Hybrid and Fusion have very good ratings from CR for instance.

SYNC and glass cockpits (of some fashion) is something everyone will be doing shortly.  Hard to complain about them actually being ahead of the game.  All of that other stuff is important... but only part of the picture and the sort of people you'd have working on this stuff aren't going to be benefiting the production process or putting together more reliable vehicles.

Exactly. They are wasted resources devoted to time-wasters and useless gimmicks that serve only to drive up the prices of vehicles unnecessarily and add weight and complexity.
