The Lexus LX570 Why are there NO safety test results?

I have looked everywhere and cannot find anything .. not even pictures or video
safercar dot gov

supposedly every car that can drive in the states is supposed to be tested before being allowed to drive on the roads ... how come the LX570 has NO tests?

Where have you been looking? What year are you looking for?
A quick search on google for "Lexus LX570 safety tests" turns up quite a bit.

Well, he's in part right. I searched at safercar.gov and had no results on LX570 for any of his 3 years on the market.

I hear the name Lexus, and I just know it will be safe.  They must have a good marketing team:).

Maybe it is too expensive for the government to buy one to crash test.  :)

You should be fine if you crashed into smaller lesser vehicles.

The only stuff you may have to worry about are Hummers, Expeditions, Suburbans/Escalades, Merc GL, and Sherman Tanks.

Just make sure you take those corners real easy now...

Correct me if I'm wrong (yeah...like that wouldn't happen without me saying it) but isn't this the same vehicle that had the rollover problem and a bunch of negative press just a few months ago and was a consumer reports "don't buy" vehicle?

Pretty sure it is, yes.

EDIT: Actually, it was the GX, not the LX. But didn't the LX replace the GX? In any case, I'd be cautious about the LX. I'd want to make sure whatever problems the GX had have been fixed and won't come back with the LX.

GX is based off of the 4Runner. LX is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser. I wouldn't be worried about the LX at all. Built like a brick SH. The GX "problem" was blown way out of proportion. The LX has a wider wheelbase and slower ratio steering. Nothing to see here.

That's good to know. So what's the deal with the apparent rareness of safety results for the LX?

I think it has something to do to low sales volume and cost of the vehicle.

 :iagree:

Don't see any +$100,000 vehicles on there.
I thought the manufacturers "donate" the crash test vehicles to IIHS and NHTSA.
Do IIHS and NHTSA have to buy them?

Lexus LX is same as Land Cruiser, check for that?

GX is based on the 4runner but pretty much identical to the Prdao the rest of the world gets in place of the 4runner; migh be different.

Yeah, sometimes they do not test seperate platform mates if thier structures are similar enough.  However, I would expect the LX to have more safety features.
