I know its winter out, but Im already preparing for the spring sales on summer tires.

I picked up a set of 16"x7" Sacchi wheels today for my 1989 Mazda 323. They have a 40mm offset. Anyway we test fitted a set of these with mounted 205/40/16 tires on them. All clearances were ok with this combo. Anyway I've got the wheels, but I'm looking at tires. Nothing too expensive, but reasonable.

I've narrowed it down to 3 tires. Im wanting specifically summer tires and not all seasons, since I will be getting new winter tires next October. The tires I picked for summer are the Nexen N3000, the BF Goodrich Geforce Sport, and the Federal 595. All are close in price, so if you had a choice between the 3- which one would you go with and why? The Nexen and BFG tires have reinforced sidewall support for better cornering. Not sure on the Federals. Any comments?

Something tells me your 323 has something a little special under the hood. Do tell.

I have BFG G-Force Super Sport A/S on my Mazda 5 (well not right now, running winter tires), very good tires, a bit on the noisy side but they've got good grip and response. There are mixed feelings about the T/A though. Nexens are always a good deal, I'm not too familiar with the N3000 but I always hear good things about the N5000. Federal... ehhhh...

No my 323 is rather plain Jane under the hood. I'd love to throw in a turbo or supercharger if it was possible, but my mechanic brother won't let me modify this car. Anyway the wheels are for better cornering and handling. This car leans quite a bit, so I can use all the grip I can get. Already replaced the front struts and all the bushings connected with the sway bars with Energy Suspension poly bushings.
