Acura MDX? Not to mention that a RAV4 V6 Ltd, Outlander XLS and Forester XT Ltd would fit the profile, but perhaps they are too mainstream for you.

Actually, the more I'm thinking about it,the more I'm thinking I might want an AWD wagon rather than a CUV/SUV. Of Couse that may change once I start looking/test driving

Hmmm...new Outback is supposed to have plenty of space.  I still dig the wagons from Audi though..and the V8 S4 Avant is sweet..though may be too small for you.  Allroad is neat too...

CTS wagon??
How fast is my Supra?  I sh*t on Cessnas from a roll....

Used Audi AllRoad?

The whole air suspension thing is a little concerning to me when it comes to repairs.
My first ever GM ownership experience  can best be described as   "Fool me once...."

Well, for example, the SRX has about 32 cu feet of cargo room rear seat up and 69 point-something with the seats down. It seems to be about the right size for my needs and i wouldn't want to go a whole lot smaller. I think the important cargo capacity number is "rear seats up" ....just about any wagon/CUV would be OK with the seats down

The HL has almost 1/3 more capacity (40-something cubic feet and over 90 with the seats down)....maybe too big a vehicle?

In terms of the Acadia and clones I think my "GM" ownership experience will be a one-time thing. ;)

I like the idea of a CPO X5 but in several reviews I've read it was faulted for being tight in terms of space.

A 3.6 Ltd Outback might fit the bill size/feature and power wise but I'm not sure I like the exterior looks.

maybe an XC70?   ...(the US site shows 72 cu ft but doesn't give the "behind the rear seats" number.) I like the looks and a friend has had good luck with an 07 V70.

Maybe I'm going to have to put 3 suitcases in the back of the SRX and go "testpacking" ;D

The XC70 has far more cargo capacity than your SRX.

Really?....by the numbers I would have thought they are about the same or just a little bit bigger for the Volvo (about 3.6% bigger volume for the Volvo......the Volvo cargo floor looks to be wider)

I have the previous generation XC70 and I looked at the SRX at the time before leasing. The floor of the XC is much wider and that do wonders for capacity. In fact my XC70 has more capacity than the XC90 I leased before. And the new XC70 has even more! For capacity, I'm sure the top pick is the XC. It's not very exciting to drive however...
