Seems like a legitimate request for info but username of "wasti_ka", a student in Germany??

At best an unfortunate choice of user name, at worst....???

The symbol has an ancient history, appearing on artifacts from Indo-European cultures such as the Indo-Aryans, Persians, Hittites, Slavs, Celts and Greeks, among others. The earliest consistent use of swastika motifs in the archaeological record date to the Neolithic. The symbol was found on a number of shards in the Khuzestan province of Iran and as part of the "Vinca script" of Neolithic Europe of the 5th millennium BC. In the Early Bronze Age, it appears on pottery found in Sintashta, Russia. Early Indian swastika symbols were found at Lothal and Harappa, on Indus Valley seals.

No biggie IMO.

I am aware it is/has been a common symbol in many cultures as you say. And not a biggie, but.....still....

Maybe I'm too cynical, I blame the internet where little is as it pretends to be.  ???

Yes it has been around for a long time, but you are naive to think it doesn't remind people of something else in Germany (most of the time).

For 5,000 years the swastika was a symbol of peace.
Are we gonna throw away 5,000 years of history because Adolf used it for 12?

2000 dollar "safetied" Corollas are a figment of ppl's imagination in Ontario, let alone Thunder Bay.

Here it is one of those Toyota priceless master pieces selling for $2200 O.B.O., certified and e-tested.

... and another one in Thunder Bay:

Remember, this is a beater that only needs to run safely 6 months and 10.000 km.

"Needs very little for safety."

I love those.   :rofl2:

I agree 100%, but you're missing the context.

I'm not 100% sure but I bet that the public transportation system in Thunder Bay leaves a lot to be desired.  If you want to tour around the city and surrounding areas you'll want a car.

As mentioned I suspect quality Civics and Corollas are going to be rare and over priced.  A protege might be a good option but I really think you'll have the most luck finding a Chevrolet Cavalier or Pontiac Sunfire.   Sure it may not be the best car on the road, but if it's in reasonable shape it should last then length of your stay.  There will be MANY more for sale so that helps with the supply and demand curve.

Good luck and have fun in Thunder Bay.

its really sad that your twisted imagination only comes this far...
and the nick DOES have a meaning, which i dont see u need to know.
No german in his right mind would mean it like u did.
if ppl like you actually get out of their frozen shells and get to know other cultures, not just presume of them because of the past, you would actually find your own comment ridiculous, inmature, insensible and redneck˛.
no offence to the guy who gave an enciclopedy review of things

Wow, well at least you answered.....

There are tons of fools, smartasses, and phony ppl on the internet forums. We get our share on here. Maybe you are not one of them....?? I was curious why someone would use such a name. Seems foolish to me.

One could say that someone using such a username could be "ridiculous, immature, insensible and redneck". If you are "straight up", great.

Back to the topic, at least for me.

Someone will always take a free car.  Always.

I bet if you poseted a "free" add in a local online classified (like Craigslist)  it would be gone within the hour.  Now, if you're looking to donate vs. give it away, talk to the local community college.  Their mechanics programs use old beaters as teaching tools.
