What glue?
« on: December 02, 2009, 07:46:07 pm »
I finished "rebooting" my Sonata a few days ago. Rims came off another 'import', so I needed to take off the centre caps, remove the labels and replace them with slanted H

Once I'm done I will post a picture, but for now I'm looking for the best way to stick the H badges onto the caps and make sure they don't fall off. Am I better off with double sided tape, or can someone recommend what kind of glue is best for plastic-to-plastic. I really don't want to lose these badges as it took me some time to find, cut and paint them.

Thanks!
You don\'t find Chuck Norris, he finds you.

3M has a double sided tape used to affix body panels on cars.  Go to your local auto body supply house and inquire.

Thanks. I found it on 3M website. Does CT, Part Source or Napa carry it? Are there specialized auto body supply stores?

Yea..although CDN Tire or Partsource MIGHT carry it.  Yea..the autobody places I refer to sell the paint, body panels, bondo, etc...  There's a local one here.  If you can't get the tape, let me know and I'll see if I can source it here.

Better yet...just go to your closest Body Shop (dealer or otherwise) and ask for a few pieces.  They'll likely give them to you for free...

I found 3M auto tape at Home Depot a few years ago.   Good stuff.

^^I think he already has the center cap.  Just needs the tape to affix it.

Are you sure you aren't really putting Honda "H"s on your car instead?
