Ugh 19" tires? I hate the direction the auto trends are going, bigger wheels, lower profile, $$$. Apparently looks are in and affordability, practicality, and durability are out.

It's a 55 series tire, it's not like it's a low profile tire.

Higher beltlines on vehicles for better side impact protection means bigger wheels, or else it looks odd. Larger and heavier vehicles means larger brakes, which also obviously means larger wheels.

I bet it's pretty rare that these vehicles get winter tires.  Once the owner checks out the price they decide they'll just slip'n'slide and save the money.  A friend at work did that and complained all last winter about how bad it was rather than fork out the cash. Doing it again this year, even though he get a discount on tires.

As Nathan said, we can get this tire for. Even though it is not listed on our website. Kumho Solus KH16 225/55R19 SL BW 99T. And for less than that posted price.

I had a problem with these friggn tires on my Journey. I had to write 3 nasty letters to Chrysler Canada and finally got a nice letter back informing me that the dealer and Chrysler would replace all four. What a friggn joke. They ended up taking four wheels and tire off another unit and I still have vibration at 100 - 120, because the tires they got to replace the ones I had where even worse out of round then the ones that came with it.
Get rid of the wheels and tires.
Can someone tell me of a good tire shop to deal with, to get a replacement 16 - 18 in steel rim with a good tire to go with it?

Get the 16" or 17" stock size (It is 225/70R16 I beleive on the base model) snows and rims, and wait for a new tire to come in.  I'm guessing those 19" tires really suck in the snow!!

People are ordering these giant low profile tires on new cars and experiencing genuine shock at the price for tires - 18" tires for a new Accord are nearly $400 each, whereas the stock 16" can be had for $150!!

I agree- Why 19"?  Ouch!  That must be one bone jarring ride!
