Selling 05 TL buying MDX 09 or 10

Looking for some advice...I want to sell my 05 TL (non-navi)that has about 70K. It's in excellent condition. Never been in any accidents other than a small scratch that I had repaired. Black ext tan int. I put 4 new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires that only have about 9000K on them last yr. The Blue book value on my car is 17400 (in good cond). Do you think I could get more selling it private? if so how much should i list it at? Or should I trade it in to the dealer as I am looking for a new MDX. What do you think they would give me for it?

As for the MDX, i saw an add in the paper about getting around 7500 dollars off? What would I be looking at? I dont need the navi or the elite...just the base model (which is not really a base model at all). Anyone buy one of these recently? If so you mind sharing your purchase price or experience? and what dealer I should be going to ? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

ps. should i go for an 09 or the 2010? when are they planning on updating the model?

Autotrader.ca and Carpages.ca have a 2005 Acura TL in the $20K to $25K range. VMR Canada has a 2005 TL with 70,000km for about $19K assuming a 8% premium for BC.

Deal Hunter, consider taxes into your analysis on a private sale vs dealer trade-in, dealer will offer less than a private sale, tax savings on trade-in may well offset the difference, plus risks in selling privately.

I bought a 2009 MDX in December 2009 in Vancouver (when the economy was in turmoil and when discounts from Acura Canada were huge.... $16,000) and had a great dealer experience. I am not sure how many 2009's are still available in BC (the discounts are unfortuntately now less than when I bought in December) but I heard that the 2010 MDX's should be at the dealers in December 2009.
