What was that movie called???   The ageing gunfighter/retired Sheriff straps on his trusty six-shooters one more time and confronts the bad guys..   I can see it in my minds eye but not put a name to it. Had a good theme tune.

He's back. !

One of the biggest comebacks in international sport looks more certain than ever with reports in Germany last night that Michael Schumacher has signed a one-year contract with Mercedes GP and has agreed a salary of €7 million (about £6.25 million) for the 2010 season.

According to Bild, the German newspaper, Schumacher travelled to the Brackley, Northamptonshire, headquarters of the Mercedes team — formerly Brawn GP — yesterday to sign on the dotted line for a sensational return to the grid after three years on the sidelines.

There was no comment from the team itself, and Sabine Kehm, Schumacher’s official spokeswoman, was unable to confirm the report.

So how does all of that jive with Ferrari?  Schumacher thinks so highly of Ferrari and is their spokesperson for road cars that he decides to race for.....Mercedes??

I think coming back in the best car in the paddock certainly influenced his decision.

Supposedly he is no longer connected with the Ferrari F1 effort for the duration of this contract anyway. But he still will have something to do with Ferrari raod cars.
There was an interview with the Ferrari boss a few days back... don't remember where I saw it.

Well I don't care if he is "washed up" or "uncompetitive".

Yeah, I have to laugh. Seven, and nearly nine F1 championships...it must have been pure luck.  Roll Eyes

All this discussion and he can run circles around anyone on this or other forums.

Maybe, but we're talking F1 or racing here.

Whatever.   Roll Eyes   I want to see some combo of   MS, Button, Hamilton and Vettel at the front of the grid preferably on a wet day...just to see what happens.

One thing tho'  If MS proves to be washed up or not competitive he always can claim his neck is a problem and weasel out back to retirement.

Now it's offical, MS will be back in F1 with a three-year deal:

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80651

Given the track record of Brawn & Schumacher, they will be fighting for the championship next year. I hope this does not mean that Rosberg will be the number 2 driver...

That is for sure...and faster than most or all local/weekend racers.

When you are on the world circuit you are in a very small fraction of a percent in the sport, whatever the sport happens to be.

Well I thought I'd rehash this old post, since there's not much going on today.  Well through 4 races now, MS still hasn't shown up.  And he's getting beat by his newb team mate.  I thought fir sure he'd be sniffing a podium, or show his good stuff in the wet.  But nothing.

Does anyone think he's going to get any better as the season progresses?  I don't.  I mean..everyone else will be getting better too, and will MS be able to best them?

Tall order IMO.

What does the peanut gallery think?
