Topic: Mazda 3 heating/air DOESN'T WORK!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm currently driving a 2005 Mazda3 GT hatchback with some major ventilation issues.
The problem is that no air comes out of the vents, no matter the fan speed setting. This poses a major problem in the winter, since there's no heat to defrost the windshield and it makes for some cold drives to work in the morning! The air conditioning will not trigger any air flow either. Trying every setting imaginable (heating/AC off, changing fan speed settings, reving the car, ...) will not cause any air to flow from the vents.

I hear that this is quite a common problem with Mazdas. Has anyone come across a solution?

You might be better off checking on a Mazda specific forum.
Anyhow, check your fuses, might be blown.  Also check the relay that powers the fan motor, they apparently go. If it's not either of them see if you can check for continuity through the motor with an ohmmeter. Might be worn out brushes.
Did it run crappily for a while or just not start up one day?

Totally agree. I have wasted my time carefully responding to 1st time posters only to later realize I ended up completely wasting my time as they never return. What a pain in the ass

I consider all of my time spent here to be "wasted time."

Thanks for your informative posts. I'll check the items you suggested and see if this helps.
This problem has actually been getting worse and worse. It started off that the fan would start after 10 minutes or so... then only after 1 hour... and now never.
Any more suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Some HVAC systems in automatic mode only switch on the fan once the engine has warmed up.  If that temperature sensor is flaky you might get this symptom. 
I really don't know how it works in your car, but if you have a manual setting can you turn on the blower from there?
When your fan previously did work, did it work well at all speeds?
