I wonder how much that would cost here? $40-45?

I'd still take the R20 over this. I can't get grip with only 200hp so I can imagine the traction control light on this blinding me already.

How is it possible that after electricity has traveled through hundreds of miles of power line then hundreds of feet (or yards) of romex in our home, that changing the last three feet of wire with something exotic, expensive (cool looking, and packaged in a pricey box) is going to make a difference?

Yeah, would have to be $42-42.

I'd take the GTI R20 too.

Has AWD still, don't they? (EDIT: Just read the Scirroco R does not)

Looks like a cross between a volvo C30 and an older Civic.

However importing it to Canada? The insurance companies would not be kind with their ratings if they would even cover it at all. Too much fun built in. They hate fun cars.

Wow that was the first thought that came to mind when I saw the pics. The front is Volvo C30 and the rear is a early nineties Civic Si hatch.

(minus the silly wing and fart can of course.)

Yeah doesn't rally make much sense to me weither. R20? YES YES YES

This? Looks like a love child of a GTI and a C30. Less practicle becuase of the rear but no perfomance advantage over an R20. I actually prefer the looks of the R20 but that's just me.

It's not supposed to perform better, it's just lighter and cheaper.  I think it looks great.

Love the looks, but the bulging rear wheel arches scream RWD to me.  It should be either RWD or AWD.

As for the last pic, doesn't VW know that their cars are supposed to loft the inside rear wheel on hard corners?   Grin

I saw one in a parking lot in Germany last June.

Very very nice and I'd also consider one if it came in a diesel.

I prefer 2-door models. I'm tall and hate looking at the B pillar when the seat is adjusted for me and I glance to the left.

Pretty ugly IMO.  If I had to "hope" one hot little car makes it here, it would be the Focus RS.

I agree. I don't find it at all attractive.  If it going to be expensive then I'd rather they made a Golf GTI CSL with an aluminium body shell and the Golf shape.

For some reason this car in photos loses its very standoutish looks. It is a real eye grabber when seen on the streets. Stands out big time.
First time I saw it was in the evening approaching from the rear, 1st thought from a distance was modified C30, ala the sloping hatch line to the rear, and broad shoulders, of course the  closer I got the more detail I could pick out different tailights and then could see the VW badge. Car has a very nice low stance on the road, and gives one the perception of a very unique expensive hatch.
Here the 2.0T  price converted to CAD$35,000 before taxes. She is a beauty in the flesh, but pictures do not do catch the lines of the car at all.

So basically you want a production version of the Audi Shooting Brake:

 Grin absolute hoot to drive!
- it is NOT a GTI 'cos it dosn't roll half as much
- DSG comes to life on this lighter platform with 200+ hp and turbo
- hooks up - power to ground better than GTI
- rotates readily, but not as well as my Civic Si coupe
- driving around Kensington - Mayfair London, car gets looks equally with Astons, Jags etc.... it is stunning in the 'flesh'
- drove up to UK car sport mecca - Silverstone on Touring Car race weekend, and car got oodles of looks
- would buy one in a split if sold here, and have fun with my Si Coupe and the Scirocco ..... forget about the GTI Golf Grin

That must just be a promotional thing.  The LFA doesn't even go into production until next year I thought.   Huh
