hi all,,
My car is due for oilchange this weekend at the dealership and my brake and power steering fluid are no longer on the full mark .. are the fluid top ups (brake fluid, power steering, coolant) free at dealership?
thanks

Depends on the dealership.   It used to be free at the one I go to.  Now they're charging a couple of dollars.

Brake fluid isn't supposed to be topped up. The system is designed so that the level in the reservoir will go down as the pads wear.

You should change out the brake fluid every couple of years, but other than that, adding fluid is a no-no.

I agree..except in the case where the reservoir is down to the level that says "low".

^^ But, if it's that low then you probably need new pads. Either that, or there's a leak in the system which needs to be repaired.

Basically, low fluid is the brake system's way of trying to tell you something. If you simply add fluid, then you're just ignoring what it's trying to tell you.

the brake fluid isnt actually on the "low" but 3/4 full. the brake pads was replaced a about 6 months ago..so I guess the tech did not top up to full when he did the job..

thanks for the advice guys.. I would have top up the brake fluid myself and cause damage to my car.
