2010 Rav4 vs CR-V
« on: November 06, 2009, 02:47:28 pm »
Hey Guys,

I'm looking at a smaller crossover vehicle as my carrying needs have increased over the years.  After doing a lot of research and a few small trips to look through both vehicles, I'm wondering what others have to say.  I'm currently looking at the 2010 CR-V vs. Rav4.  I recognize the v6 puts the Rav4 in an advantageous position, but what about the base models for each?  They both have essentially the same HP but the CR-V has the 5-speed transmission to the Rav4's 4-speed.

What are some of your thoughts on either of these vehicles?

Are these the only 2 in this category you are looking at?  There are a lot of good choices here?

Honda finally dropped the price on the CR-V, but I'd still go Forester.

out of those 2 options, CR-V for me.  The ride in the RAV4 is a bit cushy and pillowy for my taste.  As others said, there is a lot of great choice in this segment now.  Equinox, Terrain, Sante Fe, Forester, new Tucson is due next year, Outlander....lots to choose from.  What's your main criteria?

I can't imagine shopping these two without giving both the Hyundai and the Sub at least serious consideration.

Well all know which one I'd choose.  The Scoob AWD system alone is worth it, and the 09- Forester is now competitive in looks, finish and size.
No place I'd rather be...

 :iagree:

That's me.  I cross shopped them all and ended up with the 09 Forester, my first Subaru.  And after 37,000 kms, I am still very happy with my choice.

The CR-V and RAV4 both dropped off my list rather early, due to price and their so called AWD systems.  The Forester offered a lower price and a better system for my needs.

Today, between the two, I would go for the CR-V! :)
