PS - Is it only me, or does anyone else find Lincoln's alphabet soup nomenclature confusing? I can never tell what model they're talking about, 'cause everything is MK-pick-a-letter.
Agreed. Terrible idea.
I dunno, BMW, MB, Lexus, Acura, Cadillac, Infiniti, and Audi also use alphanumeric naming, so it's pretty much expected in the luxury market. And while Audi and BMW's numbering makes a bit of sense (as the numbers grow, so does the size of the car), Lincoln's system is no
more nonsensical than that of Mercedes, Lexus, Acura, Cadillac, and Infiniti.
Lincoln's naming is very confusing to me, and I can rarely remember what that new Flex-based (MKT) is. Think the issue for me is other brands have an C/E/S, IS/GS/LS, A4/A6/A8, CTS/DTS/STS... they either go progressively by number (1-3-6, 5-6-8), or alphabetically (C-E-S) from smallest/entry to largest/premium and DO NOT share two letters with only one changing (well, Cadillac does, but the first letter changes, not the last). MKZ, MKS, MKT are far, far too similar and don't seem to be logical.
2010MY MKZ's are discounted to $29,9 in the paper, but don't think that would sway me from buying another vehicle in segment.
