Hmmmmm.....I think it has to have an "enthusiast" in the car to qualify.  However, if their version of being a car enthusiast is making robots from cars.............whatever makes them happy.

Rrocket:  Welcome to Rrocket driving enthusiast radio...I'm your host Rrocket...let's take our first call:

Caller:  Hi Rrocket....you're awesome!

Rrocket: Yes, I am...how can I help you today?

Caller:  Well, I am a driving enthusiast...but my wife thinks a car is just something to go from Point A to B...so I may need to compromise on the car a little...does that still make me a driving enthusiast?

Rrocket:  Hell ya!  You're calling in arent' you? What'cha looking at?

Caller:  Well, I was thinking about a VW GTI...but I live in the city...and I really don't like to drive in traffic...so I might go with the DSG...you know.  I'm still a driving enthusiast right?

Rrocket:  Yessir you are...it's no Toyota...but I like the GTI...and the DSG is quicker anyway...and all of your upshifts and downshifts will be perfect!!  No heel-toe required!

Caller:  Heel and what?  Oh...well anyway, I don't usually travel that far...and my wife...you know...she's not into cars like us...but she likes to be green...so maybe I should look at a Prius?  That's still an enthusiast car right?

Rrocket:  You betcha...if you like green...and that's what YOU like...then that's an enthusiast car...and you, my friend are a car enthusiast!  Boo-Ya!

Caller:  Umm...OK...well...i just looked at the pricing...that's too much money...I think I'll just get the silver Corolla...with the auto...not for me or anything...just because it's the city, and my wife, and it's a pain, and all that.  That's still an enthusiast car right?  And we're still good on the fact I'm an enthusiast right?

Rrocket:  Whatever makes you happy!!!  And if you're calling TopGun radio after this, just tell him it's a stick, and he'll be good with it.  Thanks for the call...

Rrocket:  After the break, we'll talk about why RX-8 owners are having plastic surgery to fix laugh lines too early in their lives...what's up with that?

You've been drinking tonight, eh??  A Prius is NOT an enthusiast car in my/our world...but I suppose if you're a hypermiler, it is THE enthusiast car....LOL

Still funny just the same....

So is the new Ferrari F458 an enthusiast car?  No stick will be offered!   Grin

Did the F430 come with a manual? I can't say I've seen a manual F430 in any magazine or tv show.

Manual was standard.  The very good manumatic was an option.

Yes...your awsomeness is never in question.

Despite the perception that I might want to put cars, people or arguments in specific boxes, I am a believer in the degrees of things.

Using that here, I would call the Ferrari F438 an enthusiast car 'cause for that money, there would be lots of other perhaps for "sane" choices...I dunno...something softer from BMW or Mercedes perhaps.  If it WAS available in a manual...then I would say the manual is MORE of an enthusiast choice.  I do feel that driving enthusiasts should bemoan the fact that cars like this will be available with only manumatics...the days of the manual transmission started to be numbered years ago.

Perhaps time to make that distinction in my head of a car enthusiast vs. a driving enthusiast...Erik has made that point before...nice one.

I'm very pleasantly surprised to hear you say that the Prius isn't an enthusiast car in our world...here's what you said about a driverless TT!

Hmmmmm.....I think it has to have an "enthusiast" in the car to qualify.  However, if their version of being a car enthusiast is making robots from cars.............whatever makes them happy.

It might be a robotics enthusiast's car...but certainly not a driving enthusiast's car.

Oh, the fun is back.   Last night, I wasn't doing much so I hopped in the TL and just drove wherever the wind blew me.  I have to say, what a thoroughly enjoyable car to drive!

I'm really looking forward to spring, as this car is the first I've owned that when I picked it up from the dealer, it had it's winter tires on and the summers in the back.   I'm having to hold myself back from eating thru the new XIce2's...not that I'm complaining about the outstanding November...

To boot, the new TL is burning a little less fuel than the G20 did...

That it does.  I find looking at it as an 'entertainment tax' makes is somewhat more palatable... Wink
