I think that the Porsche line is a little too wide considering the Cayman is on top of the 911 in terms of performance. What about...
The Cayman melds with the 911 and the 911 is once again a $70-90K car. The 911 was once very price competitive with the Corvette, and this would bring it back.
The 928 is, as it once was, the "luxury touring" flagship of the Porsche line.
The 911 turbo returns as a RWD ripper. The original 1976 version had luxury goods, yes, but was still raw and all about performance. |

Hmmm...I think the AWD is the best thing about the turbo. (apart from the power). If you want a pure RWD ripper, that's what the GT3 is for. |

Point taken. But, if Nissan can bring the GT-R to market at it's price, then I don't see why an AWD 911 turbo can't be $115-120K instead of over $150K. And a stripped down RWD for a little less. (Not more!) |

IIRC Porsche has the largest profit margins per car in the industry (ie. they make the most money per car), therefore if they will have to lower their prices, there's room to do that. But why would they? Porsche's are selling like hot cakes. |
