You must really hate sunroofs, both and all your posts to date have been on sunroof negatives, and they are almost identical!!!!

You can modify or edit a post any way you want by using the "modify" tab after you post. No need to repost same stuff.

Anyway, no sunroofs for you obviously. Freedom of choice is a wonderful thing.  ;D

AHA.  Sun roofs aren't that bad unless you have been bombed by a sea gull.

Actually sunroofs are the only thing in that list that I disagree with about being a dumb option. I've had one on all of my last few cars and use mine all the time when it's warm. His arguments against them are weak. The extra weight it adds to the car is negligible when the car already weighs 3500 lbs. And I have never seen a sunroof rattle or leak.

I agree with his other points...

The most dumbest and frustrating item is the sun roof! Quickly becoming a standard feature and NOT an OPTION!! If I want fresh air I will roll down a window. It is a great feature if you (1) love looking straight up through a small opening (2) never experience hail (3) appreciate additional unnecessary maintenance expenses or (4) are under six feet tall.

I am becoming very frustrated with car manufactures that require you purchase a sun roof if you want a certain model or other features that sun roofs are bundled with. If I position the seat on the floor and tilted myself way back my head just brushes the sun roof ceiling. (Sun roofs remove 2 to 3 inches from the ceiling height.) A spine crusher on a hard bump.

I refuse to accept this any more. For me any product that has a sun roof will not be considered when I my lease comes up. There will be

Your opinion of course.  My experience with the Forester is different.  I really appreciate the extra light that comes in, especially in the winter.  It is a very large sunroof and as such is very good for light and ventilation when needed.  It does not rattle, nor leak so far.  And I still have at least an inch of headroom, this with the drivers seat set at its highest setting and very upright, and me at 6'.

The only additional maintenance required is lubricating the mechanism and the seals.  I thought before I got this I would not like a sunroof, but I have been convinced otherwise.

As for some of the other things, I also have come to appreciate the fog lights on the Forester, they do a good job of illuminating the ditch lines, so I can pick out wildlife a bit sooner.  So I typically run with them on at night in the country.  As true fog lights, they suck really   :-\

It's a Forester, it has a raised roof so of course it doesn't annoy.  I have to slouch down in my 911 when wearing a helmet as it'll hit the roof on bumps and my neck will hurt for days.
Annoyingly all North American cars of that vintage had AC and a sunroof.  Non-sunroof coupes are sought after for track use as you get an extra inch of headroom.

I would say the transponder key which dealer charge good $$$. also when you loss your key and you are away from home.  spare key can only let you in and not starting the car.

And my most favors is BMW early version i-Drive

It was annoying that all the 911 turbos came with sunroofs.  I'm tall in the torso, and track days were a PITN thanks to cramming my lid into the sunroof equipped cabin.
No place I'd rather be...

Just open the sunroof and stick your head out of it. ;D
