The most dumbest and frustrating item is the sun roof! Quickly becoming a standard feature and NOT an OPTION!! If I want fresh air I will roll down a window. It is a great feature if you (1) love looking straight up through a small opening (2) never experience hail (3) appreciate additional unnecessary maintenance expenses or (4) are under six feet tall.
I am becoming very frustrated with car manufactures that require you purchase a sun roof if you want a certain model or other features that sun roofs are bundled with. If I position the seat on the floor and tilted myself way back my head just brushes the sun roof ceiling. (Sun roofs remove 2 to 3 inches from the ceiling height.) A spine crusher on a hard bump.

Your opinion of course. My experience with the Forester is different. I really appreciate the extra light that comes in, especially in the winter. It is a very large sunroof and as such is very good for light and ventilation when needed. It does not rattle, nor leak so far. And I still have at least an inch of headroom, this with the drivers seat set at its highest setting and very upright, and me at 6'.
The only additional maintenance required is lubricating the mechanism and the seals. I thought before I got this I would not like a sunroof, but I have been convinced otherwise.
As for some of the other things, I also have come to appreciate the fog lights on the Forester, they do a good job of illuminating the ditch lines, so I can pick out wildlife a bit sooner. So I typically run with them on at night in the country. As true fog lights, they suck really
