It's not being cold I'm worried about... it's seeing out of the windshield!! With our TDIs, we'd be stuck driving with some frost frozen inside of the windshield for a few minutes before it'd go away... that's not ideal, that's for sure. Thanks for answering my question about the real-world fuel mileage... Oh, and your answer about the DSG reliability was even better... Thanks again!
For the price level the Golf's at, they seriously couldn't offer automatic climate control at MINIMUM? I'll stick with my Mazda thanks...
2) Also, does anyone know if the new generation of TDIs is better at warming up during winter? Our '04 TDIs weren't terrible, but it's night and day compared to our V6 Sportage which warms up within minutes (small engine + not very good consumption = lots of wasted fuel = lots of heat = good in winter! )They're probably even worse as the engine is more efficient.
Climatronic is climate control with manual fan.
So... anyone has real-world fuel econonmy numbers for a vehicle with the 2.5L engine?

Sounds like a pretty good upgrade from my 2008 GTI. Will have to wait another 2.5 years before the lease is over. Hopefully they will increase the HP by than or offer 4motion, that would be the cherry on top!!
