I took the plunge and bought 4 of these for my 2009 Civic. I got these 4, plus 4 rims, installed and balanced, taxes included (in Quebec lol), for 699.86$. I will probably be installing them first week of December. What are your guys opinions on these tires? The owner of the place told me that he has been using these for the last 3 years on his Saab and he swears by these. I hope he's right. The tread looks pretty aggressive. I wonder how they are for Montreal winters.

One other little question, how would these tires compare to the Kelly Snowtrakkers? This is what I had on my old Grand Am.

The Kelly SnowTrackers are crap. total waste of money and better off with all season tires.i know cause i had them before. The Hankook W409 ipike on the other hand are awesome. i had these for 2 years on my intrepid before i sold it and they were the second best snow tire i ever had only second to my nokian hakkas. i owned blizzacks before and these tires are much better all around tires than the blizzacks. the ipikes grab like a bugger in snow and ice. handle well for a winter tire and suprisingly stop on a dime on snow or ice covered roads. you cant go wrong with these tires. i am going to be picking a set up soon for my s15 jimmy. great tires at a great price.

Bought Hankook last winter (W409) and have only good things to say. These tires were fantastic for Toronto weather, not too deep snow, but icy roads. I ski, so had few trips to mountains, and they were handling great in fresh snow. Handling, braking - snow, ice or dry roads, they were awesome. And not noisy tires at all, very quiet.
Will see this winter after 12K last year, I've heard that they won't last too long due to very soft compound, but again, that brings very good handling.

Stay away from the Chinese tires, made very cheap and will not balance very well. Nexxens are ok but the Hankook w409 are far superior a tire and are as puncture resistant as the Michelins. i know i have owned Michelins and Hankooks and on logging roads they  have never had flats unlike other tires i have owned.

Yes, the Hankook W409 Winter IPike tires are one of our most popular selling winter tires. The represent a good value for the money.

Awesome winter tires on my Mercedes.  Wouldn't consider another brand after using these.  Great on dry, wet, snow or ice.
