Next generation retreads.  Except instead of a new tread glued on, the tires are remoulded/recured/revulcanized.  Still a used tire at heart.

That's crazy... but the all season rubber must harden like heck at freezing temperatures, I don't see the carbide bits providing significant traction, someone try gluing bits of sandpaper to a hockey puck and see how how much better it is on ice. Which Blizzaks did they compare it with, the performance LM-25?

I like the fact that recycled = gallons of oil saved... always good to reduce oil consumption and carbon footprint little by little...

I've used them when I lived in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.  A retread...yes.  However, they were incredible.  They remained soft even when the mercury dropped to -30.  In fact, I travelled over the Cabot Trail in the middle of winter after a major snow storm and never lost traction once. 

My big question is - are they permitted in Ontario??
