Hi there

My Accord have some damage to the rear bumper, and fender due to scraping a low wall, and the car is leased, is it advisable to get it fixed through a dealership or is it ok to get it fixed at a local garage?

Your opinion is appreciated....

Thanks

Body shop.  Get a bunch of quotes and decide.

Hi there:

thanks for your response. Are you suggesting local garage body shop? How would Honda people react upon vehicle return time when they know thy the car has been fixed by someone other than a Honda Dealership?

Thanks.

Depending on how long your remaining lease is, and how bad the damage is, you may want to wait until its closer to when the lease is due.

Who know what other scratches and scuffs you are likely to get until then.

There is little over an year left, but I want to get this fixed soon because I see a little bit of rust on the fender now. It got scratched about an year ago, so I want to fix it before it becomes a biger issue. My concern is that I get it fixed from a roadside garage, and the Honda people tell me that they'll deduct some money from my security deposit (upon returning the car) because they do not think the work was done at par with their standards.

So don't tell Honda.  If the repair is done properly there should be nothing to show them.   It's not like you had to straighten the frame.

I had some good luck with colorworks and they were cheap.  Smiley
